Celebrate Lunar New Year 2020 at Rhodes Waterside with a Kids Kung Fu Class!

Hosted by the Confucius Institute at University of Sydney, Kung Fu is a simple, direct and efficient form of martial arts that is founded on scientific principles and body biomechanics rather than brute force. This is a 60-minute workshop where children will learn fundamental Kung Fu concepts and practical skills.

Richard Hongguang Niu has been teaching Chinese martial arts and self-defence courses at the University of Sydney Confucius Institute since 2011. Since he began martial arts training at the age of six, Richard has won numerous awards in international martial arts competitions. They include the 2006 'Kung Fu Star' China National TV Competition, the 2006 Macau Chinese Martial Arts International Competition, the 2007 International Martial Arts Competition and the 2009 Hong Kong International Kung Fu Competition.

In 2009 Richard graduated from Hebei Normal University with a master's degree in Chinese Martial Arts Teaching. He believes that martial arts is a state of mind and that people can improve their fitness and self-defence ability through learning kung fu.
