Hosted by the Confucius Institute at University of Sydney, this is a 60 minute workshop for a class of 16 children to learn the basics of traditional Chinese ink brush painting. Appreciate Chinese philosophy and aesthetics regarding paintings. This elegant brush writing technique is taught in a way that is easy to understand, yet meditative, enjoyable and relaxing.

By the end of this workshop students should be able to understand the basics of Chinese calligraphy. Comprehend the use of materials and equipment, master the essential brush strokes and composition, construct simple Chinese paintings and start enjoying this renowned classic art form.
